Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Los Andes:
San Esteban in July
Arriving at Santiago International Airport you will meet your guide and we will make our way to our north base in Los Andes where we will be spending the next two nights. Along the way, we’ll stop at San Esteban Winery, one of the Aconcagua Valley’s best wineries, to experience excellent Chilean wine. In the late afternoon, we’ll check in to the Casa San Regis hacienda for an authentic South American experience.

Day 2: Ski Portillo
Skiing the steeps at Portillo
Today you’ll visit Portillo, South America’s oldest and most famous ski resort, first opened in 1948. Portillo has the ambience of a “boutique” ski resort, with limited hotel capacity, no lift lines and open slopes. There are slopes to fit any level of skiing expertise, and for the more advanced skiers and boarders there is an abundance of back country bowls.

Day 3: Ski Arpa
Ski Arpa
Experience Snowcat Skiing at the incredible Ski Arpa. A place unlike any other in the world, Valle el Arpa is sweet music to the skier’s soul. Unparalleled vertical snow conditions and views of both Mt. Aconcagua and the Pacific Ocean are sure to make for an unforgettable adventure. In an anything-but-typical day, you’ll ski over 13,000 vertical feet of some of the best untracked powder in the world. Intermediate or advanced level of skiing experience required. At the end of the day we will drive to Santiago, Chiles capital city, two hours from the Arpa base area

Days 4: Santiago

Chile’s capital is a vibrant city full of character, with a thriving arts culture, trendy restaurant scene, and lively nightlife. Embraced on all sides by mountains – the mighty Andes to the east and the smaller coastal range to the west – on a clear day Santiago boasts one of the most incredible city scenes in the world. Old-world colonial mansions and eclectic neighborhoods transition seamlessly to the skyscrapers of “Sanhattan” in a captivating fusion of tradition and modernity. With world-class skiing, wine tours, biking, and trekking right its doorstep, Santiago is a city full of exhilarating possibilities. Today we will explore the city and see the best of what it has to offer including cultural landmarks and numerous markets.

Day 5: Mingre Wine Lodge
Exploring the vineyards
About three hours south of bustling Santiago, miles of vineyards flank the roads in the tranquil Curicó and Maule Valleys, where long-standing traditions and a focus on sustainability produce consistentlyexcellent, flavorful wines. Experience the traditions of the campo coupled with the best of Chilean hospitality as guests at fourth generation wine producer Julio Bouchon’s private family estate. The hacienda-style home, built in 1890, will take you back to colonial times where Chilean “huasos” (cowboys) ride by on horseback, and nature and tranquility surround you.
Spend the afternoon exploring Mingre life on horseback, mountain bike, or on foot. Your guide will tell you about the Mingre vineyards and surrounding natural habitat. Returning to the guest house, there is time to freshen-up before a private tour of the winery facilities, a premium tasting, and a delicious homemade dinner.

Days 6 – 9 (Wednesday thru Saturday): Nevados de Chillan
Skiing in Chillan
Five hours south of Santiago, eruptions and lava flows from the Chillán Volcano have formed unique pistes, bowls, and natural half pipes at Nevados de Chillán. The resort enjoys some of Chile’s best snowconditions with an average snowfall of 10m (nearly 400in) and a diverse spread of terrain offering something for all ability levels (including good backcountry opportunities). There is some tree skiing on the lower slopes, and the resort is renowned for its lack of crowds. In addition to great skiing, Nevados is home to thermal hot springs, perfect for relaxing tired muscles after a day on the slopes.
Day 6: Private transfer to the Santiago train station for a scenic train ride through the Central Valley to the town of Chillán. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel Nevados de Chillán.
Days 7-8: Skiing and riding at Nevados de Chillán resort.
Day 9: Morning skiing before departure for Chillán and train back to Santiago in time for your international flight or to continue on to your next adventure.
