Trekking in El Morado & Visit to Baños Colinas Hot Springs

Less than two hours from Santiago, the dramatic peaks of El Morado National Park are some of best places to experience Andean glaciers. Enjoy moderate trekking at the tip of Chile’s scenic Cajon de Maipo and the San Francisco glacier. The day finishes with a relaxing soak in the Baños Colinas hot springs.

El Morado Peak, Chile

We will depart from the hotel at 7:30 am, heading for the dramatic peaks of El Morado National Park, at the end of the Cajón del Maipo one of the Central Valley’s best places to hike, explore, and get up-close-and-personal to Andean glaciers. We begin our hike at Baños Morales, heading toward Laguna Morales, a small lake at 7,874 feet (2,400 meters) above sea level. After a picnic lunch, we will continue along trail until we arrive at the San Francisco Glacier, one of twenty nine Chilean glaciers, which has a considerable impact on the nation’s landscape and water supply. Following the same trail, we’ll next head back to Baños Morales for a rest and some refreshments before driving higher in to the Andes for a luxurious soak in the Baños Colinas hot springs. This tour involves four to five hours of moderate hiking.
