Professional U.S. freeskier Rebecca Selig joins the Santiago Adventures team this season to lead two big mountain freeskiing camps. Camp I focuses on “big mountain basics” and is geared to skiers and boarders who are new to freeskiing. Camp II’s objective is to prepare skiers and boarders who already have some big mountain freeskiing experience for competitions. In both camps, participants will spend the week with Rebecca, splitting time between the Tres Valles region and Aconcagua/Los Andes zone, which includes Ski Arpa.

About Rebecca Selig:
Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Rebecca started skiing at age two when her father taught her to ski down the small foothill of Timber Ridge. From that moment on, she was fearless. Just one year later she was skiing faster than both of her parents and loved every minute of it. Her father fueled her passion for the sport by “occasionally” picking her up early from middle school and taking her to the slopes. Excelling in a variety of sports throughout her school years, Rebecca earned a full softball scholarship to one of Michigan’s top colleges. But skiing was in her blood and she decided to move to Vail to pursue her dream. She entered her first skiing competition at the age of 28 – the U.S. Freeskiing Tour – and took 3rd place. Today, Rebecca is considered one of the best female skiers in the world.
“I’m looking forward to working with Santiago Adventures in this new experience coaching an adventure ski camp in Chile, hoping to inspire youth while making this world a better place. I want to share my experiences in life through skiing and learning how to explore new challenges with others who have similar interests.” – Rebecca Selig
