Day 2 – Puerto Varas to Puerto Fonck

The day starts with a 30 minute drive to the town of Ensenada town where an exciting day of rafting will commence.  After gearing up and a safety briefing, we hit the river. Throughout the day, there will be many places to stop along the river, go cliff jumping and enjoy the brilliant blue Patagonian water. Approximately two hours after we begin, we will reach the take out point, enjoy a Pisco Sour and some snacks, and discover what shots the groups’ photographer has taken of us.

On our way to the night’s accommodation, we will stop at the famous Petrohue Falls within Vicente Perez Rosales National Park. After learning about the geologic history which led to the formation of these unique falls, you will arrive at the Petrohue Lodge for a night of relaxation.

After making it back to shore, we will embark upon a mellow journey through the Puelo Valley which will leave you speechless. Upon arrival at La Colina Farm, a “Baqueanos” -Patagonian cowboy – will load the pack-horses with your luggage for our walk to Las Rocas Lake. In the afternoon the ride continues along the lake and through the ancient forests which border the south shore. This Valdivian-type rainforest is filled with ancient Alerce, Coigue and Arrayan trees, and makes for a spectacular day of horseback riding among giants.
