Day 1: Arrival to Montevideo
Welcome to Uruguay! Your guide will meet you at the airport or seaport and transfer you to your hotel. After some time to freshen up at your hotel, your guide will meet you to begin a guided tour of the city. Montevideo is Uruguay’s energetic capital city, rich with culture and locals eager to share it with you. Uruguay has the most writers, musicians, poets, and artists per capita than most countries, and this creativity contributes to the thriving theater, arts, and nightclub scenes that characterize Montevideo today. The city is filled with colorful cafes, cozy tango bars, and trendy restaurants with international influences. You will enjoy lunch in Montevideo’s famous Mercado del Puerto.

Day 2: Wine Tasting

The Carrau family has mastered cultivation of the finest grapes as well as a keen understanding of what makes wine truly outstanding. You will enjoy a tour of the vineyards and winery as well as a tasting of some of Carrau’s fine wines.
Next, you will visit Bodega H. Stagnari for a private tour of the winery and vineyards. Winery owner and winemaker Hector Stagnari’s Tannat has won the most prizes for the variety in all of Uruguay. All of Stagnari’s wines are made exclusively with grapes from their own vineyards, which enjoys privileged terroir along the banks of the Río Uruguay. Following your visit, your guide will accompany you back to your hotel, where the rest of the day is at leisure.
