Casa Marin is the story of a dream by Maria Luz Marin to produce wine in her small hometown of Lo Abarca. Located in the cool coastal climate of the the San Antonio valley, with the distinction of the vineyard nearest the Pacific Ocean in South America, the winery produces sauvignon blanc, sauvignon gris, reisling, gewurztraminer, pinot noir and syrah. Their outstanding wines have received many awards including, most recenty, the best Sauvignon Blanc in the world at the Bourdeaux Sauvignon Blanc World Concourse in 2010. They were also selected as winery of the year by industry association Wines of Chile in 2010. In April 2009, Robert Parker awarded 90+ points to all eight Casa Marin wines. Maria Luz Marin is the first and only female winemaker in Chile to establish her own winery.
A visit to Casa Marin is a wonderful experience where you will share in the history of the winery with the family, learn the challenges they face in their extreme coastal climate, and taste their wonderful wines. For those who have the time, we highly recommend a stay in the vineyard villa on the top of Lo Abarca hill.
