Portillo Ski Resort sits high in the Andes on the shore of beautiful Lake Inca, and is about a 2-hour drive from Santiago.

This is the oldest and most famous of all South American resorts, opened in 1948. Portillo is more of a “boutique” ski resort, with limited hotel capacity, no lift lines and uncrowded slopes; the ambiance here encourages guests to meet people and make friends.

The resort operates based on weeklong packages that include lodging, lift tickets, meals and all amenities. Lodging options include the main Hotel Portillo, and the Octagon Lodge with shared rooms for 4.

Portillo has some of the most challenging resort terrain in Chile off the Roca Jack lift and with a little hiking some amazing couloirs including the reknowned Super-C. 2009 Prices
